What are Flavored Teas?

cherries-plums-raspberries-flavor.jpg

Our delicious flavored teas use the same top-quality organic tea that we offer in our unflavored varieties, but are blended with pieces of real fruit, spices, flowers, and 100% natural flavors. When blending our teas, our goal is to create a cup that balances the taste of the tea with the flavors of the additional ingredients so that neither one overpowers. All of the natural flavors we use are either extracts taken directly from the botanical ingredient, or extracted using 100% GMO-free grain alcohol as a solvent. You can rest assured that none of the flavors used in our blends are synthetically or artificially derived, and do not use artificial preservatives.

Steeping Instructions

At Arbor Teas, we believe tea should be brewed to suit your personal taste. We’re happy to make recommendations to get you started, but don’t hesitate to experiment! When brewing your tea, your main considerations are tea quantity, water temperature, and steeping time. We recommend herbal and rooibos teas to be steeped for 5 to 7 minutes in water heated to a full rolling boil. For the best flavor, use fresh water whenever possible, and avoid overboiling. If you want a stronger brew, just use more tea. And don’t forget to re-steep your tea leaves to get the most out of your leaf!

    A healthful necessity!

Posted by Chinyere Echewa on 10th Jan 2023

I'm a single-source purist when it comes to my teas, but this brew is just delightful! I needed something decaf to drink in the afternoons, and now I order the largest size. "Tart, tangy, red and round" are my tasting notes. If you wish to drink it hot, I'd use half the recommended amount, or it can get syrupy strong! This tisane shines when cold brewed or iced! I can drink 60oz+ per day easily, and I get my iron, vitamin C and a lot of other health benefits. It's perfectly balanced for me. :)

    get a sample first!

I wanted so badly to love this tea because I'm always looking for a good caffeine free tea to drink in the afternoons and evenings (sadly, I'm one of those people who gets insomnia if they have caffeine after lunch). The first time I made this tea it was in the summer and I made an iced tea out of it. I agree that it is refreshing but... there was something I couldn't put my finger on about it. Then I brewed it hot and I realized what it was - it tastes like cough syrup. I see from the reviews that I'm not alone in having this response to it. I definitely think that this is a tea that should be tried in the sample size first because I think some palates are more likely to taste cough syrup than others. For example, I also think a lot of cocktails (like cosmopolitans) can taste like cough syrup so I think it may be one of those things, like how cilantro tastes like soap to some people. If you're someone who tastes cough syrup in cocktails, you may want to try a sample size first. Luckily, I have a friend who also can't drink caffeine so I'm gifting her my bag and hoping she doesn't taste cough syrup when she drinks it because I'd hate to see such an expensive tea go to waste.

    I LOVE IT

Posted by C. French on 24th Sep 2022

I drink either this Organic Crimson Berry Fruit Tisane OR Arbor Tea’s Organic Hibiscus after I’ve had my morning Arbor Tea/Organic Earl Gray every day. I love the Crimson Berry. It is a little tart and sweet, at the same time. As another commenter wrote, it’s great hot or cold. IMO; when warm it has more depth, when cold it it sweeter. I do not add any sweeteners to it. It’s not to everyone’s palate, but if you love cranberry, elderberry, rosehips, or rooibos it’s fantastic.

    Crimson Berry Fruit Tisane

Posted by Abby Spolin on 8th Jun 2022

This tea is delicious both hot and cold. As the weather gets warmer, I have been cold brewing the tea. Its cherry berry flavor is so thirst quenching and the crimson color is spectacular. I will be enjoying this tea for many years to come.

I Keep a Pitcher in my Fridge all Summer Long!

My daughter and I love to keep this on hand for flavorful summer hydration. Lightly tart and very refreshing! This tea also goes well with a touch of sweetener. Definitely one of my favorites.

    Like drinking medicine

Posted by Hannah on 1st Jun 2022

Agree with the other review. I bought a full bag of this expecting to drink it all summer. Unfortunately, it was like drinking cold robitussin! I'm so sad I wasted my money on this. I wish I had ordered a sample pack first.

    Crimson Berry Fruit (iced)

Posted by Trevin on 20th Apr 2021

This tisane is amazing iced. I use 2 tsp instead of 1 when steeping then cut it with cool water and shake it with ice, saving any extra in the fridge. Really good in summer time. Cutting it with water and serving it over ice takes the edge off the tartness and I drink this without any added sugar. Also the ingredients in this tea are fabulous and the color is very pretty.

    Love it hot and cold.

Posted by Ashley Talamini on 21st Mar 2021

This was one of the first tea's me and my husband ordered from here. We were looking into trying loose leaf tea and came across Arbor so we ordered some sample boxes and 4 sample size bags. This was the first tea I tried out of this order. I made it twice, the first time was an 8 oz cup hot. The second time I made it in the teapot we ordered that held 32 oz. I drank half hot and stuck the Rest In A Bottle in the refrigerator to cool. To see how it tasted. And I have to say it tastes good hot and cold I will definitely be ordering more.

    Flavor Party!

Posted by Kseniya Husak on 9th Nov 2020

This tea is like summer in a cup. It is robust, fragrant, with a tinge of sourness. When you open it, you see whole dried berries (which I eat after brewing because I can't help it) and are greeted with a complex aroma. I haven't tried this sweetened, but I'm sure that would be delicious, especially if iced. I did cold-brew this in the summer and kept it in the fridge for a refreshing treat. I also added other teas (looking at you, nettle), which paired quite nicely. This tea gets five starts because it's both delicious and serves as some series aroma-therapy!
